My Story

Hi, I’m Bruce Peebles, a contemporary artist based in Brisbane, Australia. My passion is capturing the rhythm, motion, and essence of the natural world through my art. My journey as an artist spans decades, starting with fine art training and a career in advertising photography. These experiences shaped my unique style, blending the abstract with the tangible.

I draw inspiration from the vibrant landscapes of my native New Zealand and the dynamic beauty of Australia, where I now live and work. My art is all about exploring light, color, and texture—transforming familiar landscapes into bold, abstract compositions that invite you to see the world in a new way.

My cameras are my constant companions, always at the ready to capture fleeting moments of beauty. Whether I’m in a remote part of the outback or along a beautiful coastline, my studio moves with me. Surrounded by brushes, sponges, acrylics, and inks, I create works filled with movement and energy. My collections, including Sun Glitter, Rhythmic Motion, and Primordial Landscapes, reflect my love of nature and my mission to share its beauty with others.

Art, for me, is more than creating something beautiful—it’s about connecting with people and inspiring joy. I want my work to transform spaces and touch lives, bringing positivity and creativity into your everyday world.

Thanks for being here and taking the time to discover my art. I hope you find a piece that speaks to you and brings a sense of wonder into your life.

My Favorites

One of my favorite collections is the Sun Glitter series, inspired by a trip to the breathtaking Whitsundays in Queensland. I was captivated by the way sunlight shimmered and danced across the rippled waters, sparking a creative journey that continues to this day. The series captures the vibrant blues of midday, the fiery oranges of sunset, and the soft purples of twilight. Each piece reflects the beauty and magic of those moments, making it a collection close to my heart as I continue to expand it.

Why I Paint

In my studio, every brushstroke is a deliberate effort to uplift and inspire. I carefully choose colors that spark joy and create dynamic gestures that energize and motivate. My goal is simple: to bring happiness and positivity into your life. I want my art to be something you wake up to—filling you with energy and optimism for the day ahead.

Here, I’m doing a final check of Billabong Edge, now showcased in a resort-style home on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. This large, original framed artwork was inspired by my journey through Central Australia, where the vibrant colors and swirling winds over the ever-changing landscape became the perfect muse for this abstract painting.

The Process

My creative process begins with finding the right mindset. I strive to fill my work with positivity and inspiration, which means tapping into a sense of joy and energy. To achieve this, I often use mindfulness techniques paired with uplifting music to help me focus and enter a flow state.

When I paint, I’m fully present—letting go of distractions and immersing myself in the moment. Each brushstroke builds on the last, guided by instinct and emotion. I work intuitively, balancing colors and tones while allowing my feelings to shape the artwork. In this state, I trust the process, letting inspiration guide me as I bring my vision to life.
