Inspired by clear skies and a full moon, I climbed up the Stirling Range in Western Australia to get a better view of the night sky in all it’s splendor. The air was very crisp and fog fell down the sides of the range into the warmer valleys. The stars were clearly visible resulting in the tiny white streaks in the sky. With the moon lighting the range it made a perfect red earth foreground accenting the royal azure blue of the sky.
'The Range At Night' is from the Primordial Landscapes series.
I apply some in-camera techniques to the landscape and the outback in particular for the 'Primordial Landscapes' series. I enroll the use of color, often muted but sometimes bright and garish, to capture the essence of the Australian landscape.
